Vitamin D Deficiency Rampant
The Cooper Clinic president spoke on the radio this morning about how a huge number of Americans have vitamin D deficiency. (A 2008 report says 40%.) The topic came up because of breaking news about Gwyneth Paltrow’s pre-osteoporosis condition.
Coincidentally, at my last checkup at Trophy Club Family Medicine, my nurse practitioner told me that I have a vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D comes from sunlight. And since I had a bout with skin cancer last year, I want to know, where’s the balance?

Roanoke’s July 3rd Fireworks Event
If you don’t have plans on the 3rd, consider heading over to Roanoke’s Independence Day celebration, starting at 6pm in the park on Pecan, behind the library and swimming pool – near the baseball fields, rec center, and senior center. Feed the family on the cheap with $3 BBQ and free ice cream, and enjoy live music, a bounce house, water fun, a rock climbing wall. Best of all – the BNHS Bobcat cheerleaders will do a quick performance at 8:30 in conjunction with Mayor Scooter’s “big secret” announcement for the community. Fireworks at 9:30. Bring the kids and neighbors for some cheap, All American good times!

Catering in Grapevine, Texas
From Facebook: “Ok so I want to publicly thank Shauna Duty. I had a catering gig last nite and it was awesome. This was possible because of Shauna’s website ilivecommunity.com. It’s one thing to be a friend and help to benefit others, it’s another to do it and not want anything in return. So Shauna, thank you, you truly are an amazing person and wonderful friend. Joshua Webster” ~Thanks, Josh! If anyone needs a caterer for an unforgettable summer soiree, Josh is your man! I personally recommend him and his food. He makes a dinner party magnificent!
